Leadership Team
The Heartbeat of the Music Academy
The Tsosoloso Gospel Music Academy is powered by a multidisciplinary team that bridges the gap between professional excellence and spiritual devotion. From our Registrar and Coordinator to our financial administrator, we bring structured leadership to the ministry. We are further strengthened by professional musicians who serve as our trainers. Together, we unite administrative precision, musical mastery, and a shared commitment to nurturing excellence and cultivating spiritual formation in music ministry.
Meet Jacob, our Founder
Jacob is a distinguished musical leader and the Founder and Tutor of the Tsosoloso Gospel Music Academy. With over three decades of dedicated service in choral and gospel music ministries, he has built a legacy marked by faith, excellence, mentorship, and artistic precision — blending spiritual depth with musical mastery. Currently, Jacob serves as the Musical Director of the Tsosoloso Gospel Choir and leads the PPK Tribe Choir.
A humble and sought-after teacher, Jacob travels across South Africa and Botswana, conducting workshops to equip music teams and addressing churches on music ministry and the spiritual foundations of worship. Through his innovative Masterclass platform, he shares his deep musical ministry expertise and understanding of Biblical worship with students and music ministers from diverse denominational backgrounds.
Jacob's journey began in his youth within the Lutheran Church, where his talent earned him opportunities to serve as a chorister and choir leader during international tours to Germany in 1995 and 2002 respectively. His musical journey is marked by numerous accolades, including "Best Musical Director" and multiple championship titles in the Lutheran church choral competitions, and he nurtured choristers and directors who continue to thrive in the choral fraternity today.
During his tenure as music director, Jacob has been widely invited to train, coach, and prepare choirs for music competitions, working with churches, schools, and tertiary institutions. An accomplished composer, the work he co-wrote with Mr. Ronny Phahlane was notably featured at the 2015 Correctional Services Choral Musical Competitions.
He has also served as a chorister and conductor of community choirs, and previously led the Majestic Worship Choir, which participated in the former Tshwane Gospel Music Fraternal in South Africa and the live DVD recording of his musical partner Ausward Chitete of Warriors of Africa in Zambia.
Through his ministry, Jacob continues to raise music ministers who serve faithfully and skilfully, embodying the call to glorify God with excellence in sacred music.

"Personal leadership is the bedrock for positional leadership" Jacob Khunwana – Founder, PHLA
Meet the Leadership Academy Founder
Jacob is an ordained Pastor, Theologian, and a distinguished leader with over 25 years of experience in spiritual and organizational governance. Serving under his spiritual leader, Apostle Raymond Tshitake of the PPK Tribe and Prophetic Tabernacle Church, he is the Presiding Pastor of Divine Power Kingdom Assembly and Chairperson of the PPK Tribe. As the Founder and Tutor of Potter's House Leadership Academy, he is dedicated to cultivating a kingdom leadership mindset, a mission he further extends through his interdenominational leadership masterclasses.
His leadership journey began in his youth within the Lutheran Church, where he served in vital roles as Chairperson, Treasurer, and Secretary of the Youth League. This early foundation sparked a lifelong passion for youth empowerment and organizational development. Jacob has since become a sought-after facilitator, conducting leadership workshops and team-building sessions across various denominations and extending his influence beyond the borders of South Africa into Botswana. His expertise in governance is well-recognized; he notably steered the Cross Bearers Youth Organization (CBYO) in drafting its foundational constitution and previously served as Chairperson of the Tshwane Gospel Music Fraternal (TGMF).
In addition to his administrative and pastoral duties, Jacob is a committed educator in the realm of personal and marital development. He regularly teaches on financial stewardship within the couples' ministry led by Apostle Jason Scheepers and has equipped interdenominational groups, such as Daughters Aglow, with sound governance and operational principles. His commitment to community service was also demonstrated during his tenure on the Board of Directors of the former The Uphold Foundation led by Mrs. Mookho Moleki.
Above all, Jacob is a dedicated husband and father of three, serving both the church and the broader community with love, humility and a profound commitment to teaching and producing leaders of integrity.
